The Rockin’ Taco-cats, our Upper Elementary Band, have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming holiday performance. This will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 1:30 pm. The performance will be at Abundant Life Church on Huffine. Krista has more information about the venue, which will be emailed to you. Hope to see you there!
The children look forward to our annual tradition of Secret Santa every year. We will draw names this week and a reminder sheet will be sent home. The students will bring in a handmade gift on Monday, December 9th and put it in their person’s cubby or work box. A second gift will be brought in on Friday, December 13th. This gift should not exceed $10. Thank you for helping with this.
We are having an enriching and inspiring experience working with ROC (Reach Out and Care). The students are motivated and determined to raise enough money to build two wheelchairs for children in need. We will have our big fundraising service project on Sunday, December 8th at Town and Country on S. 11th from 11 am - 5 pm. If you have not yet signed your child up and would like to, please let me know. Thank you to Norah’s grandparents for a generous donation to this cause.
Expert Day will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 1:30 -3:00 pm. You are invited to join your child in their classroom to see and experience the lessons and Montessori materials firsthand. Your child will be a teacher on this afternoon, demonstrating one of their favorite lessons to all the parents of our class. They gain so much pride and confidence from “showing what they know”. You are also welcome to observe our classroom in action at anytime. The morning work period is a magical time between 9 - 11 am. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us one morning.
Thank you to Judy Neiminen for the memorable experience and practical skills that you shared with our students while making pillowcases. Each one was unique and so special to each student.
Thank you also to Dana Murray and Keri Baar for helping our students create their individually-designed gingerbread houses. The students are learning a great deal about trial and error, as well as gaining satisfaction from executing their ideas.
Save the Dates: Please mark your calendar for our two annual skiing field trips. We will be going to Bridger Bowl on Thursday, January 23rd and Crosscut on Wednesday, February 5th. Please let me know if you would like to chaperone/drive for either of these trips.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday break!
Warmly,
Ms. Jessica and Mr. Garrett
