2024 Elementary Summer Program Details:
(Grades 1 - 6)

Camp Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. 

WEEK 1
June 10 - 14
Music Camp

 Experienced and novice players will join to practice rhythms, play songs, and learn about the fundamentals of playing music in a group! Instruments provided.

WEEK 2
June 17 - 21
steam week

 Cooperatively design, create, and problem solve through daily Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges.

WEEK 3
June 24 - 28
STREAM ECOLOGY

 Put on your wading boots and collect specimens from our creek. Use a microscope to identify aquatic life. Perform simple experiments to explore water! 

WEEK 4
July 11 - 3
Survival Skills Camp

 Learn about fundamental survival needs such as shelter, water, food, and basic first aid. Investigate edible plants, create water filtration systems, and practice fire building.

Recycled Art

Help the environment and learn techniques to create artistic masterpieces out of recycled materials. This week will be educational, creative, and fun!

Creative Writing Camp

 Campers will tap into their imagination and self-expression. They will learn the components of a story, the elements of poetry, and the joy of journaling. Self-confidence and communication skills will grow all while having fun!

WEEK 7
July 22 - 26
Performing Arts Camp 

 Calling all dancers, actors, artists, musicians, and anyone interested in the performing arts! We welcome you to this fun-filled week of creativity, collaboration, and performance!

WEEK 8
July 29 - Aug. 2
Art in Nature 

 Paint, draw, and explore the MCM creek, plant, and animal life. Assemble natural sculptures, paint landscapes, draw from nature, and find inspiration from our beautiful campus.

What to
expect
each
week:

 Group study and discussion of the week’s theme, educational and hands-on learning activities, art projects, music, and creative expression, free play and socialization with friends old and new, barn chores and interaction with the animals, read-aloud and independent reading time.

Open to any MCM students entering 1st through 3rd grades in the fall of 2024.
