Primary: Sunshine - Oct. 2019

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

October is a beautiful time of year here at Middle Creek Montessori. The children are observing all the changes in the season.

Thank you to those of you who met with us for Parent/Teacher Conferences. It was so much fun hearing about your children and what their lives are like outside of school. If you have any questions about conferences, please don’t hesitate to either catch Megan or Jessie at pick up or email us anytime.

Bones. We have studied the human skeleton and its purpose. Say “Hi” to Mr. Bones when you enter the classroom! We also have been learning the names of the major organs of the body and their purposes.

Germs. We examined a picture of a germ and talked about where germs live. We made a list of how we can keep our germs to ourselves. Ask your child about catching their germs in their chicken wing!

Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!! We have done lots of art projects with pumpkins! We are singing “5 Little Pumpkins”. Pick up your copy of the lyrics by the sign in/out sheet. We are hammering a pumpkin in the classroom with golf tees. We will be learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin and dissecting a pumpkin soon!

Please check and make sure your child has cold weather gear at school every day they are here. We go outside most days and in the winter we go out if it is 11 degrees or higher. Waterproof items are the best. Snow pants, boots, waterproof winter jacket, hat, and waterproof mittens (easier for children to get on independently) or gloves. Thanks so much!

Sincerely,

Megan and Jessie
