Primary: Rainbow - Oct. 2019

Hello Rainbow Families!

October was a busy and exciting month in the Rainbow Room. The classroom has been buzzing with happy workers on a daily basis, and everyone is hungry for new and challenging work. This past month at circle time the children have enjoyed learning about insects, plant life cycles, and the continent of Europe. Still to come next week, spiders and skeletons!

Thank you to all of you who attended Parent/Teacher Conferences! I enjoyed having the opportunity to talk to you all about your wonderful children, set goals, and hear your insights. You were all so giving with information about your observations of their progress and needs. We are grateful to have such fantastic families in our class community.

Thank you to Rita Bozorth, our Rainbow Class Parent, for organizing the Sign Up Genius for our Halloween and Thanksgiving craft times. Thank you to those of you who have signed up to help already.

During the month of November, we will be studying North America during circle time. We will also be learning about fish, rocks, gems, fossils, air, land, and water. This month, we will also be focusing on the themes of gratitude, togetherness, and what it means to be thankful in honor of Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Please note that the school will be closed Wednesday, November 27th, Thursday the 28th, and Friday the 29th for the holiday.

Rainbow class will be having a Rainbow “Friendsgiving” feast of our own on the day before Thanksgiving break, Tuesday, November 26th. We will be preparing some simple recipes as a group, including crescent rolls, hand-shaken butter, homemade applesauce, and mashed potatoes. Earlier in the day during our morning work period we will have arts and craft projects set up around the room, lead by parent volunteers. Keep an eye out for volunteer sign-ups from Rita as the time approaches.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

With Gratitude,

Victoria, Leah, and Teresa
