Thank you to all that were able to come out for Expert Afternoon last week. It was such a pleasure to watch the children shine in their role as a teacher. They really gain such confidence and grace through these experiences.
The Festival of the Arts is an Upper Elementary tradition that gives each student the opportunity to showcase a talent, hobby, or strong interest that they would like to share. This event will take place on Tuesday, March 31st at 2:00 p.m. in the gym. We will be talking with your child at school to help them decide what to share. Past topics have included playing an instrument, singing, dancing, showing artwork, doing magic tricks, making jewelry, etc. We hope to see you there.
Every other year in the Upper Elementary Class, we have the Science Fair. This year’s Science Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 15th at 2 p.m. I presented the project to the students last week, handed out guidelines, and helped them brainstorm about their project. They will have about six weeks to work on it. There are a lot of books available here and at the library that lead students step-by-step through projects. I will try to make this process as clear as possible! Thank you in advance for helping your child with this. Please let me know if you have a planned absence for this date.
Spring Conferences will be held on Thursday, April 11th, and Friday, April 12th. School will be closed on these days, so that I can meet with each family. Please make every effort to be here on one of those days so that we can communicate about your child’s goals, academic progress, and well-being. A sign-up will be available on Bloomz in the next week or two. If you need to set up a time for another date, please do so, as I would love to meet with every family at this time of year.
