Krista Barnett

KRISTA
Krista has been in Montessori Education since 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Indiana University School of Music in 1999. She attended training at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies (MECR) in Boulder, CO, and, in 2006, earned an American Montessori Society Elementary I and II Credential for Grades 1-6.

In 2009, Krista joined the staff of Middle Creek and fell in love with the campus and school community. Krista has worked as the Upper Elementary Head Teacher, Music teacher, and as a Support Teacher in both Upper and Lower Elementary. In 2011, an essay written about Krista by one of her fifth grade students won the Barnes & Noble "My Favorite Teacher" Contest for the state of Montana. In 2017, Krista became Elementary Coordinator to help with assessments and special needs, oversee curriculum, plan events, and support the classroom teachers in many important ways.

Krista can often be heard singing in several local bands including The Tiny Band, Pinky and the Floyd, and Skylark. She also teaches private lessons in voice and piano. Her hobbies include cooking, skiing, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her daughter, Rumi, and husband, Joe.
