Kelly Nicholson
ELEMENTARY SUPPORT

KELLY

Drawing on her extensive experience as an outdoor and place-based educator, Kelly brings a diverse background to her role as Elementary Support Teacher at Middle Creek Montessori. She has taught in-school programs and summer camps at the Montana Outdoor Science School, led environmental education tours in Yellowstone National Park, guided 5-day backpacking trips for Montana State University’s Outdoor Recreation Program, and worked as a class III-IV whitewater raft guide.

Kelly is a lifelong learner and went back to college (after a long hiatus!) during the pandemic, recently graduating from Montana State University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. She also holds Montana Master Naturalist, Certified Interpretive Guide, and Wilderness First Responder certifications.

Outside of the classroom, she contributes to the local arts community as a vocalist in Dead Sky, a Bozeman-based Grateful Dead tribute band.

Kelly's work as a teacher, guide, and musician all intersect around a commitment to community and a sense of place, encouraging curiosity and growth in people of all ages, and helping them to connect more deeply to the world around them.

Kelly is originally from central Georgia and has called Montana home since 2012.
