Emily Cortez
HEAD TEACHER - SWEET PEA

Emily was raised in Central California and attended California State University, Fresno where she graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Education. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree.

 

She became fluent in American Sign Language and loves being able to apply that in teaching children of all abilities.

 

Since graduating, Emily has worked at an after school program with children Kindergarten to Fourth Grade focusing on reading and writing development. She believes that ​children offer such a beautiful perspective on the world and feels blessed to see the world as they do.

 

Most recently, she was the lead teacher in a two- to three-year-old classroom and looks forward to continuing to work with this exciting age group at Middle Creek Montessori!
